Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and OFNT/Makesquare ("we", "us"), the makers of Kuji. By creating an account or using Kuji at withkuji.com, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.

Using Kuji

Kuji is a live AI tutor. It talks with you, explains on a shared whiteboard, and helps you practise. To use it you must:

  • be at least 13 years old. If you're between 13 and 17, you can take your first lesson on your own; continued paid access must come from a parent, guardian or organization, who agrees to these terms for you;
  • give us a real email address and keep your account secure; and
  • use Kuji only for lawful, personal learning, or as permitted by your organization.

Kuji is an AI

Your tutor is an AI, not a person. It's designed to teach well, but it can make mistakes: an explanation may be incomplete or a worked answer wrong. Check important facts, and don't rely on Kuji for medical, legal, financial or other professional advice, or in an emergency.

Your content

You own what you bring to Kuji: your goals, answers, uploaded files and anything you draw or say in a lesson. You give us permission to use that content only to run Kuji for you, for example to teach you, build your Paths and remember your progress, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Only upload material you have the right to use, and nothing that's illegal, harmful or someone else's private information.

What you can't do

Please don't:

  • use Kuji to cheat on assessments where that breaks the rules of your school or exam;
  • try to get the tutor to produce harmful, hateful, sexual or illegal content;
  • harass anyone, including through material you upload;
  • copy, resell or build a competing service from Kuji or its content;
  • probe, scrape, overload or break our systems, or get around usage limits; or
  • share your account or let others use it.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Plans and payment

Some of Kuji is free, and some needs a paid plan or pack of lesson time. Prices are shown before you buy, and payments are handled by our payment processor, Polar.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Settings, and you'll keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Lesson time is used as you learn, and any limits on your plan are shown in the app.
  • Except where the law requires otherwise, payments aren't refundable. If something went wrong, email us and we'll look at it fairly.

We may change prices or plans. If a change affects a subscription you already have, we'll tell you before it applies, and you can cancel before then.

Organizations

If you use Kuji through a school, university or other organization, your organization's agreement with us also applies, and it can see your progress in its courses. If you leave the organization, your access through it may end.

Our service

We work to keep Kuji available and improving, which means features may change and there may be interruptions. Kuji, its tutors, design, software and content are ours or our licensors', and these terms don't give you any rights to them beyond using Kuji as intended.

Ending your account

You can stop using Kuji and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we're required to by law, or if we stop offering Kuji, in which case we'll give you notice where we reasonably can.

Disclaimers and liability

Kuji is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we don't make promises about Kuji beyond those in these terms, including that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that it will lead to any particular result.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or opportunities, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll revise the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Kuji after that, the new terms apply.

Disputes

If you have a problem with Kuji, please email us first and we'll try to resolve it. These terms are governed by the laws of the place where OFNT/Makesquare is established, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections where you live.
